There is an "Open Government Proposal" bill currently in consideration in Massachusetts that would allow the public access and knowledge of legislative records, votes, and "closed-door" meetings. Naturally, many Massachusetts Legislators are not too thrilled about letting the voters know how they do their wheelings and dealings. My apologies for what seems like an obvious repost, but it looks like I jumped the gun on posting that SESAME STREET cartoon yesterday. Just found out today that the SALEM NEWS DID decide to use it after all. You may notice a slight difference here, though. I had second thoughts about the punchline after I had submitted it to the paper and had altered it for the cartoon I posted yesterday. Salem News: Ban On Amplifiers Fizzles

Salem had considered a ban on sound amplifiers in the city during Haunted Happenings in order to discourage disruptions by overzealous preachers, but concerns from local tour groups and others pretty much stopped progress on the ban. Noise Quality for Haunted Happenings this year are expected to go back up to 2013 levels at least. And I can imagine other repercussions. My cartoon for the 08/12/2015 SALEM NEWS.
