Petting Zoo Coloring Book
Another job that tanked. Local petting zoo hired me to do pics for a promotional coloring book. Went pretty much as usual. Heaps of praise, do the work, than pull the rug out from under you. Felt a little better when the manager of the place got investigated for animal abuse some years later.

Heroes on a Half Shell
This had to pop up eventually.. I doubt there are many cartoonists during the past 20-odd years that DIDN'T take at least ONE shot of drawing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Aahz and Skeeve
Unpublished color sketch of Aahz and Skeeve from the late Robert Asprin's MYTH ADVENTURE novels. Back in the eighties, the series had an active fanbase (We were known as "Mythfits") and I contributed cartoons to the fanclub's newsletter and promotional materials. I still have a good number of these, and I may post some in the times ahead.

Oprah and Tracey
Two caricatures done in watercolor marker I did some time back, The first one is Oprah Winfrey, obviously from her younger (thinner) days and the second is Tracey Ullman, the british comedienne whose TV show introduced THE SIMPSONS to the civilized (ouch) world.

Update: Muppetfest Paperweights
This is an update to an earlier post. Several months ago, I posted artwork for a series of glass paperweights that were given to Muppet performers who had participated in MUPPETFEST. I just found the one for Steve Whitmire's.

Onomatopoeia
Here's an obscure one: This is the ONOMATOPOEIA, a puppet character from an 1971 ABC-TV Saturday Morning show called CURIOSITY SHOP, which was produced by famed Warner Brothers animation director CHUCK JONES, and was basically his version of SESAME STREET, though instead of letters and numbers, the emphasis was more on imagination and ideas. Jones also used the show to promote non-Saturday morning type animation.
