A little Con silliness. In the Comic-Con exhibit hall. DEVIANTART had a whole display of flatscreen monitors with WACOM tablets so anyone who wished could stop for a few minutes and draw a picture. (SKETCHBOOK PRO graphics program) Other people were drawing superheroes. Three guesses what I drew.

Salem News: Fire and Brimstone
In a move that echoes HOBBY LOBBY, Local Gordon College wrote a letter to President Obama requesting exemption from anti-discriminatory laws due to religious beliefs, which are frankly, in violation of local city ordinances. Salem mayor Kim Driscoll pulled all ties of support from Gordon, as well as terminating the college's management of Salem's Old Town Hall. While there's been general public support, there HAS been backlash in the form of several phone calls from right-wing groups. Mayor Driscoll soon published a letter to a local LGBT rights organization pledging a $5.00 donation for each nasty phone call they get. The link to story that started it all below, Plus my cartoon that appeared in the 07/21/2014 SALEM NEWS :http://www.salemnews.com/local/x1927850793/Salem-mayor-Kim-Driscoll-cuts-ties-with-Gordon-College-over-gay-rights

Some Things Should Get A Second Chance
Steve Gerber's HOWARD THE DUCK was a great character and a great comic book, and no way it deserved the botched Lucas-produced film adaptation it got. That hideously- designed Duck suit didn't help any either. They should have used a more Gerber-faithful script, and if they were going to go the live-action route, at least gone to The Jim Henson company , and used puppets or full-body suits that actually LOOKED like the character, much like they did with the first TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES film. I think CGI these days would definitely make a more convincing Howard possible,
but I'm Betting Disney might not appreciate putting out a movie that seems like a parody of their OWN duck property. (Though technically, BOTH are Disney properties now)

Salem News: Who You Gonna Call? (My Fourth Post Of The Month is ON the Fourth!)
The Massachusetts legislators have already made provisions in the latest budget for how much income the casinos will bring into the commonwealth even though the casinos are not up and running yet. Income like this is known as "Phantom Funding" and may be endangered with casino opponents lobbying hard to prevent organized gaming here in the state. This is my cartoon as it appeared in the 07/04/2014 SALEM NEWS.
