Salem News: Highland Avenue Study

Highland Avenue is a stretch of Highway that goes from Salem into Lynn…It's a MAJOR traffic area, very cluttered and rocky, many areas have inadequate sidewalks and even more have NO sidewalk at all. It's so bad cyclists will not go on it unless they absolutely have to, and it's even worse for pedestrians, for walking is very high risk. The Mass Dept. of Transportation recently completed a study of the area, hoping to get improvements going, especially as Salem plans to build a multiscreen entertainment center in the area.
